How the certificates work
Who: You invest through a Roshan Digital Account: PKR certificates from the PKR account, foreign-currency ones from the foreign-currency account.
Profit: 3-, 6- and 12-month certificates pay the profit at maturity; 3- and 5-year certificates pay it semi-annually (to your RDA).
Tax: Profit on Naya Pakistan Certificates carries 10% withholding tax as full and final settlement.
Minimum: PKR certificates: minimum Rs 100,000, in multiples of Rs 10,000. USD, GBP and EUR certificates: minimum 5,000, in multiples of 1,000. SAR and AED certificates: minimum 1,000, in multiples of 500.
Cashing early: Early encashment is allowed at the rate of the nearest shorter tenor; no profit if cashed before 3 months.
Islamic certificates: Islamic Naya Pakistan Certificates: the rates are expected rates — actual profit is calculated monthly under Mudarabah. Islamic Naya Pakistan Certificates can be cashed early only after one month; between one and three months the INPCCL redemption table applies.
SBP's page: Naya Pakistan Certificate. Rates can change after any SBP Monetary Policy Committee meeting.
