About this site and how it calculates (Saudi Arabia)

Updated

Why this site exists

Most finance calculators exist to collect your phone number. This one exists to answer one question honestly: what does this finance really cost?

Not a valid document. Estimate for information only — not financial advice, not an offer of credit and not a bank document. Errors are possible. Only your bank's or finance company's official offer letter, contract and statements are binding.

Who runs this site

Built by a Dubai resident since 2014 who has taken a car loan, refinanced personal loans, and taken out a mortgage and a remortgage here, each with a rate that looked lower than it was. No bank, broker or lender pays to appear on this site. Every figure links to its official source. Contact: hello@realloanrate.com

How the numbers are calculated

Every calculator uses the same engine: the term cost (profit) spread on the reducing balance, the method the Saudi Central Bank (SAMA) requires for consumer finance. The APR is calculated the way SAMA's APR rules define it: the yearly rate, with time counted in years, at which everything you pay — instalments, fees and VAT on them — equals what you receive.

Where the rules come from

Every regulatory number comes from an official Saudi source — the SAMA Rulebook, the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority, the Real Estate General Authority, the official gazette Umm Al-Qura, Ejar or Sakani — and each page shows the source link and the date it was last checked. Where no official number exists, the page says so and lets you enter your own estimate. The English versions of SAMA texts are translations; the Arabic text is the one that governs.

What this site is not

It is not a bank, a finance company, a broker or financial advice. There are no affiliate links and no lead forms.
