The 20% down payment rule
A bank car loan in the UAE can cover at most 80% of the car's value and run for at most 60 months, so you pay at least 20% yourself. Dealers who advertise "zero down payment" usually put a higher price on the invoice to the bank. The zero-down calculator shows what that really costs, and 0% finance or cash discount answers the other classic dealer question.
Many people in the UAE call a car loan a "car mortgage" — it is the same thing: the bank registers a mortgage on the car until the loan is paid off.
