About this site and how it calculates (Bahrain)
Updated
Why this site exists
Most loan calculators exist to collect your phone number. This one exists to answer one question honestly: what does this loan really cost?
Not a valid document. Estimate for information only — not financial advice, not an offer of credit and not a bank document. Errors are possible. Only your bank's or finance company's official offer letter, contract and statements are binding.
Who runs this site
Built by a Dubai resident since 2014 who has taken a car loan, refinanced personal loans, and taken out a mortgage and a remortgage here, each with a rate that looked lower than it was. No bank, broker or lender pays to appear on this site. Every figure links to its official source. Contact: hello@realloanrate.com
How the numbers are calculated
Every calculator uses the same engine: interest (or Islamic profit) on the reducing balance, month by month — the method the Central Bank of Bahrain requires (monthly flat rates are not allowed). The APR incl. fees (CBB method) adds every fee you pay to get the loan, VAT on the fee included: it is the yearly rate at which your payments repay what you actually receive, compounded over the year as in the Central Bank's APR formula — so it can be compared with the APR a bank must show. The Central Bank sets no maximum interest rate, so the rate in each calculator is only an example — type the one in your offer. Amounts are shown in Bahraini dinars with three decimals (fils) where it matters; banks round their own way, so their figure can differ from ours by a few fils.
Where the rules come from
Every regulatory number comes from an official Bahraini source — the Central Bank of Bahrain's Rulebook and website, the Survey and Land Registration Bureau, the Legislation and Legal Opinion Commission, the Real Estate Regulatory Authority, the National Bureau for Revenue, the Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs (NPRA) of the Ministry of Interior, the government services portal (Ministry of Justice and General Directorate of Traffic), Bahrain Customs and the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning — and each page shows the source link and the date it was last checked. Where no official number exists, the page says so and lets you enter your own figure.
What this site is not
It is not a bank, a finance company, a broker or financial advice. There are no affiliate links and no lead forms.
