Why this site exists
Most loan calculators exist to collect your phone number. This one exists to answer one question honestly: what does this loan really cost?

Who runs this site
Built by a Dubai resident since 2014 who has taken a car loan, refinanced personal loans, and taken out a mortgage and a remortgage here, each with a rate that looked lower than it was. How the numbers are calculated
Every calculator uses the same engine: interest (or Islamic profit) on the reducing balance, month by month — the effective rate the Central Bank of Oman requires banks to quote (flat rates are not allowed). The real yearly rate adds every fee you pay to get the loan: it is the yearly rate at which your payments repay what you actually receive. Amounts are shown in Omani rials with three decimals (baisa) where it matters; banks round their own way, so their figure can differ from ours by a few baisa.
Where the rules come from
Every regulatory number comes from an official Omani source — the Central Bank of Oman's circulars, the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning's fee regulation in the Official Gazette, the Tax Authority, Muscat Municipality, the Royal Oman Police or the National Centre for Statistics and Information — and each page shows the source link and the date it was last checked. Where no official number exists, the page says so and lets you enter your own estimate.
